Like many young kids, I  was captivated by the magic of unicorns when I was a little girl.  Inspired by my daughter, this collection is designed to invoke the wonder of childhood.

Like many Michiganders, our family has a special place in our heart for the "Lake Life". We spend every summer weekend fishing, swimming, and just laying around in or near one of our many local lakes.

My oldest son, Jack, is an avid fisherman. He has spent much of his childhood on a dock or boat, fishing pole in hand, talking the ear off anyone who happens to be around about "the one that got away".

When my second son, Will, was a toddler, he was obsessed with frogs, and he spent countless hours chasing, catching, and observing them. 

This collection was drawn with my sons and their love of the lake life in mind. 

When I was in middle school, my Mom would bring me and my older sister to our Grandma's house for a weekly home economics class. We baked Tres Leches cake, sewed pajama pants, and learned how to follow a counted cross-stitch pattern. Twenty years later, the (rather sloppy looking) cat that I chose to create with my canvas and embroidery thread still presides in my childhood bedroom, serving as a reminder of those cozy home ec classes with Grandma. 

While I can't imagine finding the time to hand-embroider clothes for my kids these days, I absolutely adore the look of handiwork. These floral patterns invoke the charm and nostalgia of needlework, but with a contemporary color palette and a timeless feel.
